Meet Grant – Scottsdale Estate Planning Lawyer

After growing up in Kansas City, I attended The University of Kansas and received a B.A. in Political Science in May 2000. After graduating, I moved to Arizona to attend Arizona State University (ASU) College of Law. During law school, I was a member of the law school's National Moot Court Team and served as an Assistant Coach for the ASU intercollegiate policy debate team in the 2002-2003 season. I also received recognition for my legal skills, including the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for the top student grade in Contracts II, and was named Best Oralist in the William C. Canby Appellate Argument Competition.

After earning my J.D. cum laude in May 2003, and passing the Arizona Bar Exam, I further pursued my interest in tax law by moving to New York City and enrolling in the New York University School of Law Graduate Tax Program, where I earned an LL.M. in Taxation in May 2004. With this foundation, I have established a trusts and estates practice in which I regularly advise clients with regards to Federal income, estate and gift tax laws. I have been practicing law in Arizona for 17 years and opened up my own law firm in July 2009.

I am honored to be of service to my clients. I was fortunate to be mentored early in my career by several of the most prominent attorneys in Arizona. In my practice, I strive to emulate their responsiveness, attention to detail and strength as advocates for their clients. If you hire my firm, you will work with me, directly, from beginning to end.

During my spare time, I enjoy traveling, listening to sports podcasts, playing golf, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and dining out with friends and family. I am also a commercial aviation enthusiast, having completed aviation law coursework in law school and having researched the successful emergence of America West Airlines from bankruptcy under the thoughtful guidance of Professor Dale Furnish.

"I have referred many clients to Grant as I am in awe of his knowledge of estate issues. Clients trust me and I am very guarded about who I refer them to, as it is inevitably is a reflection on me. Grant has proven, time and time again, that he can be trusted as a talented advocate while providing cost effective service."
